FOOD. ADMINISTRATION
  • SALARY: R1 266 714 per annum (Level 13) – All-inclusive package. The employer structures the package to include a basic salary (70%) and a flexible portion in line with Senior Management Services (SMS) guidelines.
  • LOCATION: Gauteng: Pretoria

REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must successfully complete the National School of Government (NSG)-endorsed Pre-entry Certificate for SMS. They must hold an Advanced or Bachelor’s Degree (NQF Level 7) in Public Management, Public Administration, or Business Administration.

Applicants must have at least five (5) years of experience in an administrative environment at middle or senior management level.

They must demonstrate strong knowledge of public service legislation and systems, including the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA) and National Treasury Regulations. Applicants must understand Batho Pele principles, good governance, internal reporting, and performance management systems. They must also understand government decision-making processes and public service regulations.

Applicants must possess knowledge of government structures, monitoring and evaluation processes, and diversity management.

They must demonstrate strong computer literacy, communication skills, and report writing abilities. In addition, they must have financial management, project management, planning, organizing, and document management skills. Applicants must perform well under pressure, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a team. A valid driver’s license is required.


DUTIES: ADMINISTRATION MANAGEMENT

The successful candidate will develop and implement policies, processes, and systems to support effective administration. They will ensure compliance with policies and monitor adherence to the PFMA, DPSA directives, Archives requirements, and National Treasury Regulations.

They will oversee financial administrative support services, supply chain management, and general administrative operations. The candidate will manage the Community Liaison and Enquiry Management unit within the Office of the Director-General and oversee the flow of enquiries from the Ministry and Director-General’s office.

They will manage all documentation processes within the Director-General’s office, including the flow of incoming and outgoing documents. The candidate will monitor instructions from official documents and handle classified documents in line with security protocols.

They will compile reports and submissions as required and ensure the effective delivery of administrative support services. The candidate will consolidate management information regularly and ensure that Human Resource Development receives all training-related information.

They will enforce procurement compliance and coordinate the daily operations of the Chief Directorate. The candidate will ensure continuous compliance with PFMA requirements.

They will manage staff performance, develop performance agreements, and compile monthly reports and statistics. In addition, they will oversee asset management and ensure proper control and accountability of departmental assets.
