Requirements:

  • Grade 12. Diploma/Degree in nursing (Basic R171, R174 or R425) qualification or equivalent that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional/Registered Nurse. Registration with SANC as Professional/Registered Nurse. Good communication skills, report writing skills, facilitation skills, coordination skills, planning and organizational skills, problem solving skills, information management skills.

Duties:

  • Provide direction and supervise the implementation of nursing plans to ensure effective clinical practice and quality patient care. Implement and maintain standards, practices, criteria, and indicators that promote quality nursing.
  • Practice nursing and healthcare in full compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Maintain constructive working relationships with nursing staff and all relevant stakeholders.
  • Utilize human, physical, and material resources efficiently and effectively. Demonstrate a strong understanding of legislation, as well as legal and ethical nursing practices.
  • Perform clinical nursing duties and promote quality patient care in line with the defined scope of practice and institutional nursing standards. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient care. Work effectively and harmoniously with individuals from diverse intellectual, cultural, racial, and religious backgrounds. Plan and organize your own work, as well as that of support personnel, to ensure proper nursing care delivery.
  • Provide quality patient care by adhering to established standards, policies, and procedures. Deliver advanced nursing care to improve service delivery while upholding Batho Pele Principles and the Patient’s Rights Charter. Act as a shift leader within the unit when required. Ensure the effective utilization of resources. Participate in training and research initiatives.
  • Maintain professional growth, uphold ethical standards, and pursue continuous self-development. Be prepared to work shifts, including weekends, public holidays, nights, and rotational schedules.
